The tournament, held annually at Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, has recently been scheduled directly after the Masters. This elevation means the RBC Heritage is the eighth event to achieve Championship Series status for 2028, excluding the four major championships, the Players Championship, and the Tour Championship.
Other tournaments confirmed for the Championship Series include the Travelers Championship, the Sompo, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the Cadillac Championship, the GO by Raymond James, the Memorial Tournament, and the Truist Championship.
The Championship Series, initially announced in June, is designed to feature the Tour’s top performers competing in approximately 23 to 24 events. This total includes the Players Championship, the four major championships, and the postseason. A complete PGA Tour schedule for 2028, coinciding with the debut of the Championship Series, is expected to be released at a later date.
