International Team Finalizes Presidents Cup Roster with Six Picks

The International Team for the 2026 Presidents Cup has finalized its roster, with Captain Geoff Ogilvy announcing his six captain’s picks on Tuesday. The selections complete the 12-man team that will compete at Medinah Country Club in Chicago.

The six players chosen by Ogilvy are Corey Conners, Nico Echavarria, Sungjae Im, Ryo Hisatsune, Nick Taylor, and Christiaan Bezuidenhout. These golfers will join the six automatic qualifiers: Si Woo Kim, Hideki Matsuyama, Ryan Fox, Tom Kim, Min Woo Lee, and Adam Scott.

Adam Scott, a prominent figure in the International Team, will make his 12th Presidents Cup appearance, surpassing Phil Mickelson’s record for most matches played in the event. Scott’s extensive experience and leadership are considered invaluable to the team.

Among the captain’s picks, Nick Taylor will make his first Presidents Cup appearance. Taylor, who was reportedly disappointed to miss the team two years prior, earned his spot through consistent play. Ryo Hisatsune is another rookie on the team, marking the first time two Japanese players, Hisatsune and Matsuyama, will be on the International Team together. Hisatsune ranks second in total birdies made on the PGA Tour this season.

Corey Conners brings prior Presidents Cup experience, having played in 2022 and 2024. Sungjae Im, with three previous appearances, is noted for his ability to play all five sessions and his adaptability with various partners. Christiaan Bezuidenhout, despite a challenging season, was selected for his strong record in past Presidents Cup appearances, where he earned 3.5 points in five matches, including two singles victories.

The International Team’s last victory in the Presidents Cup was in 1998 at Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Australia, a course where Captain Ogilvy grew up. The team will aim to replicate that success at Medinah No. 3, a course Ogilvy helped redesign.
