Kai Trump, a freshman at the University of Miami, is scheduled to make her collegiate golf debut this Sunday at the Golfweek Fall Challenge in Pawley’s Island, South Carolina. The 54-hole tournament will run from Sunday through Tuesday.
Trump, 19, who is the granddaughter of former President Donald Trump, joined the Hurricanes’ 2026 signing class after committing to Miami in August 2024. She will compete as an individual in the event, alongside teammate Carlee Rogers.
Earlier this week, the Miami Hurricanes team secured their first team victory at the Boilermaker Classic, where Scarlett Schremmer claimed the individual title. Trump was not part of the lineup for that event.
Last fall, Trump made her LPGA debut at The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, where she posted rounds of 83 and 75. A sports book had set her over/under for Round 1 at 92.5, reflecting a junior golf record that was less extensive than many of her peers. During a recent practice, she recorded four birdies, including a near ace on a par-3 hole.
The oldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, Kai Trump has also established a presence as a golf influencer with a significant social media following. She has launched her own clothing line and holds multiple Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) partnerships.
Earlier this year, Trump underwent surgery on her left wrist to address injuries to the stabilizing tissues of her ECU tendon and damage to her fibrocartilage complex. Now healthy, she is set to begin her college golf career.
Last year’s Golfweek Fall Challenge was won by Charlotte. Campbell University, which has won the event seven times previously, is also among the teams participating this year.
