Los Angeles Rams quarterback Ty Simpson delivered an efficient performance in the team’s 20-12 victory over the Chiefs during Week 1 of the 2026 NFL Preseason. Simpson, the No. 13 overall pick, completed 21 of 25 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns over the final three quarters of the game.
Early in his second series, Simpson executed three consecutive bootleg passes, gaining 39 yards. He demonstrated a cautious approach on multiple third downs in the first half, opting for short throws to avoid errors. Midway through the fourth quarter, Simpson displayed confidence, attempting three downfield throws to challenge the Chiefs’ secondary and wisely checking down when deep options were unavailable. He concluded the drive by looking off coverage to connect on a back-side angle route for his second touchdown pass. His only errant throw was an off-balance Hail Mary attempt at the end of the first half, which fortunately fell incomplete after he was hit.

Detroit Lions right tackle Blake Miller, a first-round pick, showed quickness and strength in handling pass rushers and executing run blocks against the Bengals. Denver Broncos running back Jonah Coleman, a fourth-round selection, gained 24 yards on four carries against the Falcons, demonstrating good vision and tackle-breaking ability.
Buffalo Bills defensive end T.J. Parker, a second-rounder from Clemson, recorded his first NFL sack against the Panthers, overpowering a tight end on the edge. Cleveland Browns left tackle Spencer Fano, a top-10 pick, had a solid outing against the Bears, effectively neutralizing Chicago’s starting right end.
