The University of South Carolina Athletics department announced on August 31, 2026, the recipients of 28 endowed scholarships for the 2026-27 academic year. These scholarships span seven sports and the cheer team, with selections made annually by the respective head coaches or department heads.
Among the football scholarship recipients is junior quarterback LaNorris Sellers, who received the Tommy Suggs Endowed Quarterback Scholarship. Sellers holds a 12-12 record as a starter, with four 300-yard passing games and two 100-yard rushing contests, completing 63.4 percent of his career passes. Senior defensive lineman Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy, in his second season at South Carolina, received the Ed Pitts Defensive Tackle Endowed Scholarship. Brownlow-Dindy has played in 20 career games, including 12 last season, and has 22 career tackles with 3.5 for loss. Senior Nyck Harbor, who has 24 starts in 36 games, received the Mozingo Family Endowed Football Scholarship. Harbor has 68 catches for 1,189 yards and 10 touchdowns.
For women’s basketball, junior forward Joyce Edwards was awarded the A’ja Wilson Endowed Scholarship. Edwards was the team’s top scorer last season, earning All-America and first-team All-SEC honors for the second consecutive season. She set program records for points, 20-point games, 10-point games, minutes played, games started, and games played in a season. She ranked 30th nationally with 19.2 points per game and 20th in field goal percentage at .571, also placing in the top-15 in SEC rankings for rebounding (6.8 rpg), offensive boards (2.9), steals (1.8 spg), and blocks (1.1 bpg). Junior forward Adhel Tac received the Aleighsa Welch Endowed Scholarship. Tac played in 23 games during an injury-affected 2025-26 season, serving as a motivating force and achieving career-best scoring and rebounding averages with 3.1 points and 3.4 boards per game.
In baseball, JD Stein received The Curtis H. and Lisa B. Dickerson Endowed Baseball Scholarship. Stein joins the Gamecocks after a freshman season at Wake Forest, where he recorded 10 doubles and 41 RBI. Garrett Michel, a fifth-year senior, received The Ken Rosefield Family Endowed Scholarship, having posted a .277 batting average with 12 doubles and 20 RBI for Arizona State in 2026. Colby Richardson, who made 27 bullpen appearances for Coastal Carolina last year, received The Charles and Katherine Wilson Endowed Scholarship. Brice Estep, who played in 43 games for Coastal Carolina, received The Elizabeth A. Phibbs Endowed Baseball Scholarship. Hayden Johnson, who missed the 2026 season due to injury, received The Mike Addy Family Endowed Scholarship. Luke Jones, who made 16 appearances on the mound for Coastal Carolina, received The Jane and Randy Senn Endowed Scholarship. Patrick Evans, who played in 52 games for the Gamecocks last season, received The Tommy Moody Baseball Endowed Scholarship. Andrew Koshy, who pitched in 25 games for Maryland in 2026, received The Lindell Bradley Baseball Scholarship. Daniel Parker, who made 19 appearances for Coastal Carolina in 2026, received The Williams-Brice-Edwards Charitable Trust Endowed Scholarship. Walker Cox, a senior from Easley High School in Easley, South Carolina, received The Charlie and Jakie Hodge Family Endowed Scholarship. Hughes Elvington, a business management major from Mullins, South Carolina, received The Ryan Fischer Endowed Scholarship.
For men’s basketball, Caden Weeks, a senior from St. George, South Carolina, received The Mac Credille Men’s Basketball Manager Endowed Scholarship. Weeks is majoring in integrated information technology with a minor in sports and entertainment management and is entering his fourth season as a team manager.
Women’s golf senior Vairana Heck received The Kenneth T. Lytle Endowed Scholarship. Heck posted a scoring average of 71.86 with seven top-20 finishes in 10 tournaments last season, including a win at the Shootout at Wachesaw.
In men’s soccer, junior midfielder Kieran Karp received The John P. Salamone Memorial Endowed Scholarship. Karp appeared in five matches last season, recording an assist against Winthrop. Senior midfielder Mika Habel received The Mark Berson Endowed Scholarship, having scored three goals and two assists last season.
Track and field junior Devan Crumpton received The Schreiber Family Endowed Scholarship. Crumpton helped guide the Gamecocks’ 4x400m relay squad to an indoor national title, the first in school history, and earned First Team All-American honors during the indoor season.
The Justin Edward Cannon Scholarship for cheer was awarded to Jordan Jones, Summer Dubreuil, Hailey Edwards, Lauryn Fuller, Gabriella Gautraud, and Lily Olson. The Jamey Elizabeth Collins Scholarship for cheer was awarded to Piper Sanders, Addy Watson, Levi Schnatz, Henry Brown, Ellie Harrell, Gracie Berry, Brookelyn Bullock, Rylie Shull, Carmella Crisitello, Layla Holmes, and Nicole DeTemple.
