U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Annie Andrews, the Democratic nominee, will bring her statewide Gas, Grits and Groceries affordability tour to Aiken County on Tuesday with a 2 p.m. press conference at Better World Studios, 125 Marshall St., in Graniteville.
Graniteville sits along Aiken County’s Horse Creek Valley corridor. Scheduled speakers include Dennis Briatico and Darnell Holston.
At the press conference, Andrews plans to share details from her Affordability Plan, including how she would take on data centers and large utility companies that she argues are driving up energy costs, along with proposals aimed at lowering power bills and easing the cost of living for families across South Carolina.
The Graniteville stop falls in the middle of a busy stretch for the tour. Earlier Tuesday morning, Andrews was scheduled in St. Helena, and she is scheduled to appear in Greenville on Wednesday morning as the tour continues across the state.
Andrews is running for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Republican Sen. Darline Graham. She will also face Libertarian candidate Kasie Whitener and Constitution Party candidate Mark Hackett in the general election.
