Warrenville, South Carolina – Two South Carolina teens have been charged with murder in separate shooting incidents, prompting community concern over rising violence among youth. In the first case, 17-year-old Marquis Edric Robinson from North Augusta has been accused of killing 18-year-old Tranard Sheppard, whose body was found on June 22 on the side of a road in Aiken County.

Robinson has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. His arrest was carried out on Wednesday by the Cayce Police Department, over 60 miles away from his home and approximately 57 miles from the location where Sheppard’s body was discovered in the 400 block of Sarah Street, near Henson Manor trailer park.

Sheppard was pronounced dead at the scene around 2:56 a.m. after responding deputies found he had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. A 911 call reporting the shooting initiated the police response, and at this time, no additional injuries were reported at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing, with unclear details about how Robinson was identified as the shooter and what the potential motive for the violence might be. He is presently held at the Aiken County Detention Center with no bond set. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, the 2nd Judicial Circuit Solicitors Office, as well as members of the ATF and U.S. Marshals Service assisted in the investigation.
