The MacKenzie greens are exactly what you would expect from the man who designed Augusta National three years later. Walked it. Bermuda fairways were spotless. **Memorable Hole:** Hole #6 -- the short par 4 over the creek **Toughest Green:** Hole #9 -- false-front green that fed everything back to my feet **Best Food:** Pimento cheese sandwich at the halfway house Aiken Golf Club Caroline • May 27, 2026 Walkable, affordable, and historic. Hard to find a more charming public course in the Southeast. The old Highland Park clubhouse with the Babe Zaharias photos is worth the visit by itself.
