This festival is all about honoring a significant battle from history—the encounter on February 11, 1865, where Union Maj. Gen. Judson Kilpatrick faced off against Confederate Maj. Gen. Joseph Wheeler. Now, 160 years later, this reenactment brings together thousands of fans who share a passion for history.

The first Battle of Aiken reenactment kicked off back in 1995, driven by the inspiration of Fred Cota from the 14th South Carolina and the Barnard E. Bee Camp, Sons of Confederate Veterans. Since then, it has blossomed into a renowned festival that draws visitors from near and far. You might even meet folks who travel from other countries just to take part in this exciting event!

You’ll be able to catch the action twice on Saturday, at 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM, and once on Sunday at 2:30 PM. Don’t forget to join in a heartfelt Soldier’s Church Service on Sunday at 10 AM, a meaningful way to honor those who served. Of course, no festival is complete without delicious food! You’ll find over a dozen food vendors ready to satisfy your cravings—Old South BBQ is definitely a highlight amongst them!

Admission prices are also very reasonable: $15 for adults, $10 for ages 13 to 18, $5 for ages 6 to 12, and absolutely free for children 5 and under!
