AIKEN, S.C. — Cumberland Village, a senior living community in Aiken, is inviting the public to walk its upgraded nature trails and central pond during a fall Trail Mixer from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23.

Visitors can tour the grounds on foot or ride along in a golf cart. The afternoon includes a scavenger hunt built around nature, cornhole, an axe-throwing style game, a table for making fall bouquets and a seasonal photo spot.

Gavin Reily will play live music by the clubhouse. Snacks include a make-your-own trail mix bar, popcorn, apple cider served hot or cold and pumpkin and cinnamon treats. Members of the South Carolina Bluebird Society plan to talk about the birds’ habitat and nesting and why they need protection.

Guests are asked to bring canned or boxed food for Golden Harvest Food Bank’s It’s Spooky to Be Hungry drive. Now in its 34th year, the October campaign aims to raise $500,000, enough for about 1.25 million meals across the food bank’s 24-county service area, where one in six people faces food insecurity.
