AIKEN, S.C. — A North Augusta man was arrested after an Aiken County Sheriff Office deputy found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside a guitar during an Oct. 9 traffic stop near Gloverville.

The deputy was conducting a patrol check at the Gloverville Post Office when a vehicle passed with no working tag lights. The stop was conducted at Augusta Road and Hillman Street.

Police reports identify the driver as Patricio Salinas, 28, of North Augusta. He was holding a large lighter when the stop began, and the deputy conducted a narcotics search of the vehicle.

In the car, the deputy located a guitar and through the sound hole found a meth pipe and a pill bottle containing 3.45 grams of crystal meth.

Salinas was booked into the Aiken County Detention Center and charged with distribution of methamphetamine.

The Aiken County Sheriff Office handled the investigation and booking following the roadside discovery.
