AIKEN, S.C. — Dominion Energy South Carolina is committing $3 million over three years to expand its EnergyShare assistance program for eligible residential customers, including those in the Aiken service area.

The year-round program helps customers pay energy bills and lower monthly costs through weatherization and energy efficiency upgrades. It also covers critical health and safety repairs and energy-efficient upgrades for eligible residential electric customers.

The company said it added shareholder-funded money after receiving stakeholder feedback earlier this year. Since 2020, EnergyShare has helped more than 7,000 South Carolina customers.

Dominion Energy South Carolina is the primary electric provider serving Aiken, and it also provides natural gas service in the local market. Program funds will be administered through the South Carolina Office of Economic Opportunity and local community action agencies serving Dominion customers.

Customers can learn more and apply through the company EnergyShare South Carolina page. The three-year commitment is meant to reinforce year-round bill help for older adults, people living with disabilities, and other eligible households across the Palmetto State.
