## Prysmian Expands Lexington Facility

Prysmian has initiated an $80 million expansion of its facility in Lexington. The project aims to increase the manufacturing capacity for the company’s FlexRibbon fiber optic cable.

The expansion is projected to create 130 local jobs. Construction is anticipated to conclude in the first half of 2028.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Thursday, September 24, attended by Prysmian executives, local officials, and community leaders. Andrea Pirondini, CEO of Prysmian North America, was present at the event.

This Lexington project is part of broader investments recently announced by Prysmian across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Lexington Mayor Pro-Tem Todd Carnes commented that Prysmian’s decision to expand in Lexington highlights the strength of the local workforce and the community’s supportive environment for advanced manufacturing.

Steve Ragland, chief operating officer of SummitIG, a Prysmian customer, noted the importance of reliable, high-performance fiber solutions as connectivity needs continue to grow.
