# Georgia Tech leads Folds of Honor Collegiate

Georgia Tech carried a team lead into Wednesday’s final round at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, holding on at American Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven, Michigan, behind a freshman leading the individual field wire to wire so far.

Freshman Max Emberson opened his college career Monday with an 8-under-par 63 and kept the individual lead through 36 holes on Tuesday. Emberson closed his second round with a birdie on the ninth hole to reclaim sole possession of first place. The Yellow Jackets stood at 12-under 556 through two rounds, a one-stroke lead over Notre Dame and a Texas side tied for second.

Georgia Tech, ranked No. 22 nationally, opened with a 12-under 272 team score. Michigan State, the host, was second after 18 holes at 5-under 279, with Notre Dame third at 4-under 280.

No. 12 Texas sat in a tie for sixth after Monday’s opening round, at 1-over 285. Junior Eduardo Derbez Torres was the low Longhorn with a 3-under 68, tied for fourth individually.

Vaughn Harber of Ohio State was second individually after 18 holes at 6-under 65, with Florida State’s Shawn Coultoff third at 4-under 67.

Play concludes with 18 holes Wednesday afternoon.
