The North Carolina Apple Festival is underway in Hendersonville this Labor Day weekend, running from September 4-7. Visitors can explore a diverse vendor market as part of the festivities.

Among the food vendors present is BTM, offering various dishes. The festival provides an opportunity for attendees to experience local culture and cuisine, drawing visitors from across the region, including Aiken County residents looking for weekend activities.

Beyond the Apple Festival, other events are also taking place in the broader regional area. The Mill Town Players are set to begin their 13th season with a production titled Country Outlaws, scheduled for September 11-13 at Pelzer Auditorium. This performance marks the start of their new season.

Another event, the Hot Air Affair: Rising Above Cancer, is scheduled for September 4-6 at the Anderson Civic Center Balloon Launch Field. This event aims to raise funds for the Cancer Association of Anderson. Additionally, singer-songwriter Dani Rucker is slated to perform a free show at Celebrate Anderson on Sunday, September 6, with another appearance planned for Fall for Greenville 2026.

While these events are located outside Aiken, they represent regional attractions that Aikenites might consider for weekend outings, especially given the proximity of communities like North Augusta and Beech Island to regional hubs. The variety of festivals and performances highlights the vibrant cultural landscape of the wider Central Savannah River Area.
