# Musk’s PAC boosts Republicans in midterm races

Elon Musk’s America PAC has recently allocated approximately $800,000 to support Republican candidates in competitive races across the country, according to a report filed with the Federal Election Commission on Thursday, September 3, 2026. This spending indicates a significant push by Musk’s political action committee as the midterm elections approach, with Democrats aiming to gain control of one or both chambers of Congress.

The PAC’s recent disclosures show nearly a quarter-million dollars directed to the Texas Senate race, over $170,000 for the Maine Senate race, and more than $25,000 for the Michigan Senate race. These contributions follow earlier reports that America PAC had begun investing in digital advertisements in Maine, Michigan, and New Hampshire to back conservative candidates and encourage voter registration.

America PAC is actively involved in House and Senate contests across more than a dozen states, including Alaska, Florida, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin. A spokesperson for America PAC, Andrew Romeo, stated earlier this summer that the PAC was enthusiastic to again contribute to Republican midterm efforts, citing the party’s strong operational setup for retaining congressional control.

Musk was a substantial financial contributor in the 2024 presidential election, spending over $250 million to support Donald Trump and other Republicans. The following year, he also invested millions to back a conservative candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, though that candidate was unsuccessful. During the initial months of Trump’s second term, Musk held a close relationship with the former president, even heading the Department of Government Efficiency and making appearances at Cabinet meetings.

Despite a brief period of disagreement where Musk considered forming a third political party, the America Party, he and Trump have since reconciled. This year, Musk accompanied Trump on his state visit to China, signaling a renewed alignment.
