Aiken football fans following the NFL will note that Makai Lemon, the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2026 first-round draft pick, made his professional debut in the team’s preseason finale against the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Lemon was the only projected starter to play in the game, a decision influenced by his missing half of the Eagles’ spring practices and most of training camp due to a hamstring injury.

Lemon’s performance in his first NFL game was modest. He was targeted five times, resulting in three catches for three yards. During the game, a pass went through his hands, leading to an interception, and he muffed a punt after multiple bounces before recovering possession. Lemon acknowledged accountability for the turnover after the game.
